Ending extreme poverty through inclusiveness, empowerment, improved access and accountability
Vision
WaterREG Ghana's vision is of Ghana where ALL citizens – particularly women, youth, the marginalized and the vulnerable – are able to claim their rights to access opportunities and resources so as to overcome all forms of poverty and injustice
Thematic Areas
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Services
We design and implement interventions targeting Sustainable Development Goal 6. Our focus is on the provision of improved and accessible water, sanitation and hygiene services to poor households and institutions in Ghana. We specialize in boreholes, water systems, household and institutional toilets and the CLTS process.
We also render some software services like capacity building on WASH services management, group dynamics, accountability and behavior change communication.
Governance, Accountability, & Claiming Rights using Advocacy
The focus here is to champion gender, social and economic equity/parity through advocacy, youth-led activities, mobilization, peer-to-peer education and support for the less privileged.
We encourage community-led social accountability forums that brings community members and Duty Bearers (Local Assembly Officials) to a table to discuss local challenges and solutions. This improves governance, local participation and project sustainability.
Climate Change and Livelihoods (Agric/WASH)
Our programming also design and implement local climate mitigation interventions that do not only enhance climate resilience and sustainability, but effectively improve livelihoods within WASH systems and the agricultural production and value chains.
We are focus on:
Promoting Renewable Energy; Sustainable Agricultural Practices; Forest Conservation and Reforestation; and Management of Water Resource.
HealthCare (Primary and Reproductive Healthcare)
Here at WaterREG Ghana, our workers concentrate on creating safe spaces through primary and reproductive healthcare services in deprived communities and for young girls.
We offer training and capacity building to Community Healthcare Workers, Women and young girls in school and at home.
Our programs target improving service delivery within health facilities, improving sanitation and care, improving nutrition, eradicating hunger and promoting gender equity within the home, the community, school, and spaces.
