Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Services

We work to make improved water, sanitation and hygiene services available and accessible to poor communities and households as a surest way to eradicating poverty. Community participation and cost effective WASH designs and interventions are encouraged to bolster ownership and sustainability. Hardware designs are tailor made to respond to community-specific needs.

We further specialized in CLTS processes leading communities to attain ODF status. We promote sustainability by forming and training Water and Sanitation Management Teams (WSMTs) on common repairs, group dynamics, behavior change communication and basic accounting and accountability process to help manage WASH services.

We offer the following interventions and more;

  • Borehole Drilling
  • Construction of Water Systems
  • Household Toilets/Latrines
  • Institutional Toilets/Latrines
  • Training of communities Members
  • Capacity Building for WATSAN Committees
  • Community Mobilization and Stakeholder Engagements
  • Contributes to Shaping Policy at the Local and National Levels

Claiming Rights Through Advocacy

In the Bawku West, Binduri, Garu and Tempani Districts, WaterREG Ghana championed human rights and social inclusion through advocacy. We empower citizens to advocate for improved socio-economic and political participation for school girls, women, youth and the vulnerable. We work towards policy changes, legal reforms, and social justice.

Our community-led advocacy programs are designed to achieve gender parity, increase accessibility, equity, and responsiveness. Our focus is on the right to education, right to proper menstrual hygiene, right to water and sanitation services, and the right to a decent life.

We cover the following;

  • Girls and women rights
  • Disability Rights
  • Youth Engagements
  • Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Rights

Assessing the Impact of Climate Change Using CSC

We aim to increase effective local and community participation in evaluating the impact of climate change on WASH services in the Bongo and Bawku West Districts of the Upper East Region.

The project provides direct support to communities and local authorities in strengthening their capacities on Water Resource Management, WASH Service delivery and Climate Change.

It is further designed to capture evidence and knowledge to inform advocacy on the effects of Climate Change on Water Resources and WASH Services.

The Community Score Card (CSC) is a participatory social audit tool that uses the feedback mechanism to communicate Project impact.

The project targeted ;

  • Community Members
  • District Assembly Staff
  • WATSAN Committee Members
  • Community Leaders
