Alhassan Musah is an interdisciplinary development professional with over 20 years of experience in Strategy and Programme Development, Development Facilitation, SMEs and Financial Inclusion, Financial Management and Accountability, Development Evaluation, Policy Research, and Analysis. He has an impressive record of successfully carrying out participatory development facilitation activities, with proven practical and academic experience related to programmes in strategic planning, enterprise development, education, fundraising, advocacy, and rights.

                                                       

Before joining academia, Alhassan worked with RAINS as the Executive Director, and the Country Project Manager for the Youthsave Consortium - a project studying youth demand for financial services in Ghana, Kenya, Nepal, and Colombia.

 

Alhassan has consulted for many agencies including ActionAid Ghana, SEHP, USAID/RING, Technoserve/USAID, Africa Development Bank/Banse Tropical farms, Hope for Children, UK, SDF/COTVET, and STAR-Ghana.

 

Alhassan holds a PhD in Endogenous Development from UDS, Ghana, a MSc in Microfinance from the University of Bergamo, Italy, a Bcom degree from the University of Cape Coast and a Certificate in Project management from the Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands. Alhassan is also a Chartered Accountant. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, ACCA UK, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.

 

He is currently the Dean of Students Affairs’ at the University for Development Studies. He has published in several reputable journal on a number of issues. His current research interests are in Sustainable Development and Sustainable Financing.
